The National Student Health Awareness initiative is the culmination of over two years of planning and responding to the many health issues our students face during their formative
years at school.
Raising funds to support the initiative was one of the first and major issues for the two mums involved.
Hamiltons Laboratories came on board along with a number of other sponsors, allowing the website to finally become a reality.
We sought the advice and direction from all of the health information providers involved to create an interactive educational website for you and your family.
To ensure that students are given an incentive to review the information and learn information that may well help you to avoid some of the health problems addressed a number of competitions were included for you. As each competition is entered as an individual (the size of your school is irrelevant, based only on the number of students that enter the competition).
When devising an interactive quiz we again sought input from experts and were fortunate to enlist the help of a leading health professional. He has not only offered advice and guidance but has put together 3 quizzes.
One for Primary Students, one for High School students and not to be left out, one specifically designed for teachers.
Once the students have sourced the correct answers to the 20 q’s in each quiz, they simply click onto the ‘submit’ button. All correct entries from each state will be entered into a draw for a variety of prizes including Wii console, Playstation 3 plus more.
So, over the numerous years of planning a national schools health information site, we believe that we have a site for students with incentives about a health information site for students with incentives to learn and earn. We do hope that you will enjoy all of the different aspects of the www.nshai.com.au site.
Our sincere hope would be that students and perhaps even their families and teachers have a greater understanding of a range of health issues that may affect them or someone they know.
We also hope that a greater degree of understanding will encourage greater tolerance for those living with a medical problem and appreciation of your own good health.
Look after you and take care of those around you.
Best Wishes from the team at NSHAI.
